5G and health safety

Fully aware of the concerns that consumers have about wireless communications and their possible health implications, 5G has been designed so that there is no cause for concern. Official studies have shown that there is absolutely no risk from using 5G and it is worth noting that this new technology uses the same radio wave frequency and technology used for years for mobile and WiFi networks.

Following a large number of relevant studies carried out, no adverse effects have been associated with exposure to wireless technology, with official reports from world-renowned and influential bodies that stand out, such as from the World Health Organization, according to which:

"To date, and after much research performed, no adverse health effect has been causally linked with exposure to wireless technologies."

The International Commission on Safety against Non-Ionizing Radiation states:

"The ICNIRP 2020 RF EMF guidelines [which are strictly followed by the Cypriot state] protect against all potential adverse health effects relating to exposure to RF EMF, including from 5G technologies."

5G for society

All the benefits of 5G lead to a better and more secure society. This will affect every aspect of our lives beyond personal and professional, as it will generally affect our relationship with the government, education, environment and health, as well as other important areas of our daily lives.

In the health sector, for example, there will be significantly improved and immediate services. Patients, the elderly and people living in hard-to-access areas will be able to enjoy real-time personal monitoring by their doctor.

The environment will be much better protected with millions of sensors worldwide informing us of any change in weather conditions as well as natural disasters, such as fires, floods and so on.

Our communication and contact with the government will be significantly upgraded, with digital services being available at any time, on any device, for all citizens.

Education will now be able to be unrestrictedly conducted remotely, with teachers and students participating at the same time without issues, exactly as if being in the classroom, while they will be able to easily "handle" physical learning tools from a distance. At the same time, with the use of augmented and virtual reality, distance education (and education in general) will be taken to a completely new level.

5G and the European Union

To date, dozens of providers in various European countries have launched 5G networks.

Cyprus is one of the leading countries in the world and Epic aims to create a state-of-the-art and reliable 5G network. For all consumers without exception, 5G means freedom! Freedom in communicating, freedom in working, freedom in entertainment. It also means eliminating distances, as our loved ones will come closer to us from wherever they are, with zero delays, in ultra-high resolution and with crystal clear sound.

It means smart homes that will take care of “themselves” and us, gaming with zero lag, video streaming with exceptional quality, unique possibilities of remote working and remote education, uploading and downloading in record times, all without interruptions and delays. It is simply a new, wonderful world that we are now beginning to discover!

5G for businesses

In business, the 5G revolution will probably be even more catalytic.

Starting with the "basics", the upgrading of elements such as remote working and the streaming of virtual office desktops in every corner of the world is a given. But also, the data transfer speeds that will take "heavy" tasks (eg video editing) to new levels, will be easier to execute remotely.

But at the same time, we have a whole new world, that of IoT (Internet of Things) which allows millions of devices, sensors, users and systems to connect and communicate with each other. This allows sectors such as "smart" agriculture for example (precision agriculture) to reach new levels, with producers controlling the health of their plants, irrigation and the weather conditions of the coming days, automatically and from a distance!

With the IoT in full swing, smart cars, smart highways, motor vehicles, remote fleet diagnostics and drones that will carry images from every possible and unlikely corner of the globe, are now a fact.

Only our imagination and our entrepreneurial spirit will limit us, since anything we imagine can be very easily realized.
